Freemasonry is the oldest and largest fraternal organization in the world. The earliest known record of Masonry is a manuscript called "The Regius Poem," traced to 1390 AD.

The first Grand Lodge was formed in England in 1717.
Through symbolism and allegory, Freemasonry teaches a philosophy of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth.
I am a Knight of the York Cross of Honor and a Past Master of Pemberville Masonic Lodge #516 in Pemberville, Ohio. I invite you to E-mail me with any questions you may have regarding Freemasonry. I assure you, it is far removed from the sinister reputation that is attributed to it by sensationalists and the ignorant.
Through this fraternity, I have become acquainted with many amiable, distinguished and exemplary
men. Within this organization there is a very real sense of sincerity and fraternal affection.
While Freemasonry is not a religion, all Masons must profess their faith in the Creator. If you are a moral and virtuous man over the age of 18 you may be interested in becoming a Mason. Masons do not "recruit," so you must petition for membership by asking a member of a lodge.
